Brewery releases Dole Whip-flavored beer, runs out due to popularity

A Florida brewery’s take on a popular Disney park drink has sparked huge interest among social media users.

On August 12, First Magnitude Brewing Co., which is based in Gainesville, announced on Instagram and Facebook that it would release a beer based on the Dole Whip drinks served at various Disney locations and the Dole Plantation in Hawaii. Called the Dole Whip Sour, the drink supposedly tastes like the pineapple soft serve and consists of the “actual Dole Whip mix,” pineapple puree and milk sugar.

“This beer is a creamy, dreamy sour that isn’t too sweet or tart, it’s just the right balance and is packed with pineapple goodness!” the brewery boasted on its account.

First Magnitude’s announcement immediately drew interest from Facebook users, many of whom shared it with their friends. When asked how sour the drink was, the company said it was “mildly tart” while adding that the lactose and Dole Whip mix “balance very nicely without making it overly sweet.”

Unfortunately, the brewery seemed to have run out of the beer in just three days due to intense interest. In response to one Facebook user, First Magnitude said it didn’t “have plans to brew it again” but that it would “likely be back in the future.”

Earlier this year, Disney shared the secret behind its famous Dole Whip treat, which simply consisted of one scoop of vanilla ice cream, four ounces of pineapple juice and two cups of frozen pineapple.
